Invisalign and traditional braces are used for treating misaligned teeth. These two are the major treatments given for tooth misalignment. Both treatments work effectively and help you achieve your beautiful smile. However, when considering Invisalign cost, there are noticeable differences in the overall price and duration between these two treatments.

Invisalign is a treatment that comes with transparent plastic aligners to straighten your teeth. It is flexible and easy to use for a long period. Most people opt for Invisalign treatment because it is nearly invisible, which socially draws less attention.

Traditional Braces treatment involves metallic braces in your mouth to straighten your teeth. This treatment is quite difficult because you cannot eat all types of food.

    UPFRONT COSTS: INVISALIGN Vs. BRACES

    1. The cost of Invisalign treatment costs between $3,000 $8,000. The cost depends on multiple factors. One of the factors is the severity of your case.

    2. The cost of traditional braces is between $3,000 and $7,000. The price can depend on the severity of your case and the duration of time you have to wear braces.

In comparing the cost, Invisalign treatment is usually higher than braces.

    INSURANCE COVERAGE AND PAYMENT PLANS

Most insurance plans can cover the cost of treatment. Depending on your policy, most insurance plans cover half the price of your treatment.

However, flexible payment plans are available for getting the treatment. The cost of treatment is divided into multiple installments for the convenience of budget-friendly patients. You have to pay a portion of the treatment as an upfront payment for the treatment.

    MAINTENANCE AND ADDITIONAL COSTS

Both Invisalign and braces require maintenance and additional cost for acheiveing the desired results. You need to make a couple of visits to your doctor in the future to adjust your aligners. You also need retainers to achieve positive results. These retainers could cost you from $100 to $500, depending on their type and material.

    EFFECTIVENESS AND TREATMENT DURATION

The duration of treatment also determines the cost of the treatment. The more time the treatment takes, the higher the cost of treatment will be.

    1. Traditional braces have to be worn for 18 to 36 months, depending on the severity of your case. During this period, you will incur expenses related to maintenance and doctor visits.

    2. Invisalign treatment requires the patient to wear the aligners for 12 to 18 months, depending on the case. You need to follow the instructions properly; otherwise, the duration of your treatment will increase, and the cost will also increase.

    CONCLUSION

The cost of Invisalign treatment is higher than traditional braces treatment. Invisalign treatment offers convenience and comfort, which makes it a preferable option. Traditional braces treatment is less costly compared to Invisalign, but the duration of the treatment is longer. This will enable patients to incur more maintenance costs. However, it is advisable to consult your orthodontist before making any decision.
